Permit to acquire: (PTA) 

Making a Purchase 

Firearms 

  • Firearms, Firearm Parts and Ammunition will only be sold to customers producing current Victorian Firearms Licence 

  • Firearms may only be handled in store by customers who hold a current Victorian Firearms Licence. Those under the age of 18 must hold a current Junior Victorian Firearms Licence and be in the company of an adult with a current Victorian Firearms Licence 

  • Lay-bys require 20% deposit and are for a term of 3 months unless other arrangements have been made 

  • Cancellation of  a lay-by will result in a restocking fee being 20% of the purchase value. Any remaining balance be refunded to purchaser 

  • Special ordered products (including firearms, ammunition or general retail) are non-refundable. 

  • Change of mind purchases on firearms are only accepted within 14 days of the purchase date and only if, subject to inspection, the firearm is returned unfired, in brand new condition and with all original retail packaging. A return to stock fee of 25% of the purchase prices is applicable with the remaining value to be refunded to the purchaser 

  • Permits to Acquire are completed on line or in store. Permit cost is $15 per firearm. Permits are valid for 28 days from the date of approval 

  • First firearm purchase is subject to a 28 day cooling off period before the permit becomes valid and picking up the purchase. 

  • Most Permits to Acquire, other than with a first firearm purchase, are processed and available within 3-7 business days, excluding weekends 

 

Warranties: 

  •  All warranty claims on new firearms or retail purchases will be sent back to the supplier 
  • All warranties are to be returned to place of purchase unless other arrangements can be made 

  • Cost of freight to and from the supplier in relation to warranty claims will be payable by the purchaser. 

Second Hand firearms have a strictly 30 day warranty from the date of purchase.  At the discretion of Sunbury Firearm Supplies, the firearm may be sent away for repair, a similar replacement firearm or in store credit given. This is considered a back to base warranty, with all freight costs to be paid by the purchaser.  

Not Covered by Warranty: 

  • Misuse or incorrect cleaning/maintenance of firearms 

  • Firearms under $100 in value  

Storage of firearms 

Firearms can be stored for many reasons 

  • Lost or expired Firearms License 

  • Storage while moving house or overseas trips etc 

Storage costs 

  • Initial administration fee of $30 per firearm paid up front 

  • Storage at $1 per day per individual firearm and paid monthly in advance 

  • Permit and transfer of firearm back to owner is $35 per firearm if required

  • If storage fees are not paid within 3 months the firearm will be considered surrendered and will be sold to offset storage and other charges.  

Transfer or Selling Firearms Privately

  • Firearms can be traded between licenced firearm holders. 
  • Both the seller and purchaser must be in attendance at SFS during the transfer. 
  • The purchaser will have to produce a current PTA or make arrangements with the store to process a PTA on line for the purchaser before transfer can take place 
  • Cost of this transfer is $35. The cost of the PTA is $15.  

Selling a Firearm to Sunbury Firearm Supplies 

Advise the store on 03 9740 3614 that you wish to trade or sell a firearm to Sunbury Firearm Supplies 

Transportation of firearm to Sunbury Firearm Supplies 

  • Firearm to be unloaded 

  • Firearm Bolts to be removed from rifle if possible. 

  • Firearm to be in a rifle bag or similar   

There are no transferring fees when selling a firearm to a licenced firearms dealer  

Purchasing a Firearm from Interstate 

Advise the store on 03 9740 3614 that you wish to purchase a firearm from interstate and that you have nominated Sunbury Firearm Supplies as your transferring dealer 

Transportation of firearms to Sunbury Firearm Supplies 

  • Firearm to be unloaded 

  • Firearm Bolts to be removed from rifle if possible. 

  • Firearm to be in a rifle bag or similar/ packaged correctly to reduce the chance of damage to the firearm being transported 

  • The transferring dealer is to include transfer paperwork 

  • Dealers details 

  • Dealers license number and expiry date  

  • Details of whom the rifle is for including contact details 

  • Cost of transfer and PTA for interstate purchase: $100 + $15 PTA

  • Cost of transfer and PTA for interstate purchase from Cleaver Firearms Only: $50 + $15 PTA 

Transfer of Firearm Local & Interstate 

  • Cost of freight and transfer to Victorian Dealer $60 (if heavy or oversized additional costs TBA) 

  • Cost of receiving from Victorian Dealer and PTA $55 + $15 PTA

  • Cost to send a firearm interstate including freight $85*  

* Excludes remote areas, NT and WA, please call 03 9740 3614 for a quote to deliver to these regions  

Registering a Firearm 

A previously unregistered firearm can be registered through the permanent Victorian Firearm Amnesty. Registration of a previously unregistered firearm costs $65 including PTA 

If the firearm requires a serial number engraved, there is an additional cost of $20 

Unregistered / Unlawfully Held and or Unwanted Firearms 

All Unregistered / unlawfully held and or unwanted firearms can be surrendered at Sunbury Firearm Supplies 

Please ensure during Transportation of firearms to Sunbury Firearm Supplies 

  • Firearm to be unloaded 

  • Firearm Bolts to be removed from rifle if possible. 

  • Firearm to be in a rifle bag or similar  

Public Liability 

Sunbury Firearm Supplies take no responsibility for firearms that have been purchased from Sunbury Firearm Supplies that involves:  

  • Incorrect use of firearms 

  • Unlawfully used firearms 

  • Incorrect transportation of firearms 

  • Damage by firearms directly or indirectly  

PRICING & SPECIAL ORDERS

All prices are subject to change (STC) due to fluctuation in the Australian Dollar as most items are imported. This also includes items which were ordered and were delivered at a higher cost than at the time of quotation.

Refunds are available where quotation price cannot be maintained due to price increases, (whether it be from supplier or as a direct result of cost increases of imported items).

All prices on this web site are subject to change without notice. Whilst we make every effort to provide you the most accurate, up-to-date information, occasionally, one or more items on our web site may be incorrectly priced. In any event where a product is listed at an incorrect price due to typographical, photographic or technical error SFS will notify the customer as soon as we become aware of the error. SFS has the right to refuse or cancel orders placed for a product listed at the incorrect price.

  • Dollar Value in the form of a Gift Voucher will be emailed to you 28 days after pick up of your purchase. Selected Items Only.
  • Cash Back Voucher cannot be traded for cash
  • Cash Back Voucher cannot be transferred to another person
  • Interstate Purchasers cannot purchase in-store pick up items e.g. Safes, Ammunition, Primers, Powder etc
  • No refund available on items purchased with Cash Back Vouchers
  • Cash Back Voucher cannot be used on existing firearms or stored firearms

WE WILL NOT BE UNDERSOLD

Find the same product in Australia, in-stock, at a lower price and we will price match as per the following:
  • To enable price match, items must be in-stock and available for immediate purchase (no backorder)
  • Available items must be in-stock and available for immediate purchase (no backorder) from an Australian store (e.g. not e-bay or online international selling platforms, e-commerce or marketplaces)
  • The store with the lower price must be contactable for SFS to confirm availability and price at time of purchase
