The Ranger 4 series is well recognized in the market as Steiner’s entry-level line of hunting riflescopes, characterized with a 4x zoom factor. The Ranger 4S series represents an expansion of this line, with the 4-16×44. The “S” in its name signifies ‘Short,’ a designation that is quite fitting as the model is around 25% shorter than most of its competitors (with a similar magnification range and lens diameter), measuring just 27.8 cm in length. In addition, the scope is notably lightweight at only 518 grams.
The compact design of this riflescope offers significant advantages. Even with an attachment mounted on the 4S, the overall setup remains only slightly shorter than that of competitive devices without any attachments.
