- Digital zoom up to 8x
The Pulsar Axion Compact XQ30 Pro is a lightweight thermal observation device designed for use across Australian environments where visibility is affected by darkness, fog, rain, or dense vegetation. Its compact form makes it well suited to handheld scanning during outdoor activities such as wildlife observation, environmental monitoring, and general terrain awareness. The monocular design supports quick deployment and easy handling, allowing users to observe surroundings efficiently in changing conditions without the need for additional light sources.
The device uses a 384x288 pixel thermal sensor with a 17 micron (µm) pixel pitch and high thermal sensitivity, supporting reliable detection of heat sources at close to mid range distances. A base magnification of 2x with smooth digital zoom up to 8x allows flexible viewing as conditions change. This model is best suited to wildlife observers, land managers, and outdoor users in Australia who prioritise portability, sensitivity, and dependable thermal performance in challenging weather conditions.

Highly sensitive thermal imaging sensor
Pulsar Axion Compact
The Pulsar Axion Compact series opens the door to thermal imaging with a lightweight, pocket sized design and dependable performance. Designed for users seeking a compact and approachable solution, Axion Compact delivers reliable thermal detection, modern connectivity, and durable construction in an easy to carry format.
Compact Design with Serious Capability
Axion Compact monoculars feature a space saving design that fits comfortably in one hand and weighs under 300 grams. The lightweight construction supports prolonged handheld use, while the symmetrical arrangement of control buttons ensures intuitive operation for both left and right handed users. This balance of size and ergonomics makes the series suitable for regular use across a wide range of environments.
Reliable Thermal Imaging Performance
The series is equipped with European made thermal imaging sensors designed to provide clear and consistent imagery in varied conditions. Depending on the model, Axion Compact devices use either 640x480 sensors with 12 micron pixel pitch or 384x288 sensors with 17 micron pixel pitch. These sensor options deliver reliable thermal detection and stable image quality, including in low contrast scenes or challenging weather conditions.
Wide Field Viewing & Image Optimisation
A wide field of view simplifies scanning and allows users to observe larger areas more efficiently. Sensitivity amplification levels combined with advanced filtration algorithms help improve image clarity when conditions are difficult. Fine brightness and contrast adjustments, along with multiple colour palette options, allow the image to be optimised for specific tasks while helping reduce eye strain during extended observation.
Durable Construction & Smart Connectivity
Axion Compact monoculars are built with a rugged magnesium alloy housing that protects internal components from impacts, moisture, heat, and cold, while also aiding heat dissipation for consistent operation. Built in photo and video recording allows moments to be captured directly on the device, while internal memory supports extended recording. Wi-Fi connectivity with the Stream Vision 2 app enables wireless updates, live image transmission, remote control functions, and convenient sharing across compatible iOS and Android devices.
