Product Overview

LIGHTER & FASTER, BUILT FOR THE AUSTRALIAN SHOOTER

The Taipan Evo from Southern Cross Small Arms is the next step in Australia’s leading dual-action rifle platform. Lighter, faster, and more refined for real-world use.

Featuring a spring-assisted pump action and straight-pull bolt system, the Evo delivers rapid, reliable cycling whether you're on the range or in the field. New upgrades include a more intuitive bolt catch and flared magwell, allowing for quicker reloads straight from the mag carrier built into the glass-filled nylon polymer lower and buttstock. A textured thumbhole grip and adjustable cheek piece ensure secure, custom-fit ergonomics for any shooter.

The Evo runs a precision 16.5” 416R stainless light-contour barrel (threaded), surrounded by an M-Lok handguard with a full-length Picatinny rail, ready for optics and accessories. It ships with two 10-round polymer drop mags and comes with three Cerakote options: Grey, Black, or Burnt Bronze.

KEY FEATURES

GLASS FILLED NYLON POLYMER THUMBHOLE GRIP & ADJUSTABLE BUTTSTOCK

Designed for comfort and control, the glass filled nylon polymer lower/buttstock is designed with a non-slip thumbhole grip that enhances handling in wet or dusty environments wile securing a comfortable positive grip. It reduces shooter fatigue during extended use and ensures a secure, confident hold. Adjustable lower/buttstock has a integrated magazine carrier that securely hold an extra magazine, always in reach for fast responsive reloads when you need it.

INTUITIVE BOLT CATCH

Driven by IPSC shooter feedback, the Evo’s updated bolt catch allows faster, more intuitive reloads. The bolt locks back on an empty mag, just insert a fresh one and slap the catch to chamber. It’s a competition-ready feature designed for speed and simplicity.

FLARED MAGWELL DESIGN

The Taipan Evo features an integrated flared magwell that guides magazines into place quickly and easily, even under pressure. This enhancement significantly reduces reload times and fumbling during competitions or field use, giving shooters a smooth, reliable edge over standard platforms.

SPRING-ASSISTED ACTION

The Evo’s dual-action system blends speed with control: a spring-assisted pump for rapid cycling and a removable straight-pull bolt for precise follow-up shots. Whether managing pests or holding steady on the bench, it offers unmatched versatility in any environment.
